Therapy Services

Individual Therapy:

The aim of individual therapy is to help you to explore and understand yourself, to replace unhealthy coping strategies, to increase self-acceptance, become more satisfied and have higher self-esteem, and to feel an overall sense of well-being.

Through insight-oriented therapy (also known as psychodynamic or psychoanalytic therapy), together we will identify what motivates your behavior and understand why you do what you do. I offer tools that help you cope with a variety of life's challenges, like relationship issues, anger management and stress, depression, anxiety, etc. Therapy sessions last 50 minutes. Some clients remain in therapy for many weeks. Others continue for many years. The length depends on what you deem to be helpful.

Couples Therapy:

Couples therapy is especially useful when you and your partner can't get through to each other. Perhaps you are going through a major life change (pregnancy, college bound children, job loss, breach of trust, etc.) that is affecting your relationship and making it difficult to communicate your needs.

In couples therapy, you may learn:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Conflict resolution
  • Frustration tolerance
  • Increased intimacy and/or sex
